The Backtie
In this video, you’ll be able to see the backtie, how to attach it and how it helps your dog. Remember to go slow with Step 1 and keep the backtie on so that your dog is able to have a number of wins, making the right decisions and start a different pattern of behaviour.
Instead of the doorbell ringing and your dog running off the cot and barking at the door, you are able to be proactive and only have to correct the dog if he breaks placement or barks. It’s alot easier to correct a dog when the behaviour is just starting than chasing a barking and lunging dog around the house where the dog builds in intensity making it harder for you to stop it.
The Backtie is your best friend doing 1/2 of your work for you while your dog learns that placement means hang out with me calmly and let me take care of protecting the house.
