Teaching Calm & Impulse Control
Teaching a dog impulse control and how to move into a calm state of mind through stillness is a game changer in the dog training world. This easy exercise helps dogs to start using their natural sense of the world (nose) instead of eye. When a dog starts using their natural sense of the world through their nose they become more relaxed and calmer. By being still with your dog it allow them to absorb this strange human world and allows them to practice impulse control. A dog without impulse control like a human is going to struggle through life.
If we cant get a dog to sit and relax being still beside us, it’s impossible to ask a dog to be calm and relaxed when they are moving their feet.
